not yet another SSL VPN Admin Right issue

hi guys,

I just installed the new Sophos SSL VPN Client (from the lastest v9 UTM) on some notebooks. I installed with the user account but with admin right (admin rights were requested). At first, it worked like charm, but after a reboot und login with the domain user, the connection is coming up correctly, but the routes could not be set.

The log file looks like this..


C:\WINDOWS\system32\route.exe ADD 192.168.2.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 10.242.2.9

ROUTE: route addition failed using CreateIpForwardEntry: Access is denied. [status=5 if_index=24]

Route addition via IPAPI failed [adaptive]

Route addition fallback to route.exe

ERROR: Windows route add command failed [adaptive]: returned error code 1

Initialization Sequence Completed

I tried to add the AD user to the local network operator group, but without success. The UAC is still enabled, but this shouldnt be the problem.

Any ideas?

Is there a service called "OpenVPNServiceInteractive" ?

Yes that service exists and is also started. What does it mean?

I installed the Client with the non-administrative account, but entered the local admin credentials as the setup requested.

What happens when you start the astaro-ssl-vpn-client with admin credentials?

with admin credentials the routes will be set correctly.

..but without, it fails ... :-\
