Managed to get my Nexus 7 connecting the same way as the iPhones with the Cisco IPSec option, so I thought I'd post the (fairly simple) process. This assumes you already have setup the Cisco/IPSec VPN as per instructions for an iOS device:
[LIST=1]
- Enable/login to the User Portal
- Download your certificate - NOT the iOS one, the normal p12 file. I couldn't do this on my Nexus 7 in either Chrome or Dolphin browsers, so I ended up downloading it on a PC and copying it into the sdcard/Downloads area on the tablet via a USB cable.
- On the Android device, going into Settings, Security - look for the option under Credential Storage for "Install from storage".
- It should prompt for the password specified when you downloaded your certificate in step 1
- Once that's done, return to Settings, Wireless & Networks - more, VPN
- Add VPN profile - give it any name, select type: IPSec Xauth RSA, type in server address (FQDN), select your IPSec user certificate and IPSec CA certificate, leave IPSec server certificate as (received from server), advanced options not required.
- That should do it - click the VPN connection you just created and it should prompt for username/password and then connect!
I'm pretty sure that covers all the steps. Let me know if I missed anything. I know I searched the forums for a bit trying to find Android instructions without luck, so hopefully this helps someone. Tested & working with Nexus 7 running Jellybean.
