So I install an SSL (openvpn based) client called FEAT VPN (basically a GUI wrapper for openvpn). Works fine except after awhile it's disconnected. After much conversation with their tech support, his conclusion is we (ASG) are running 'keepalive 10 120' on server side. If my droid goes to sleep, it stops sending pings (I think), so after 2 minutes of this, ASG disconnects, but the droid isn't apparently aware of that, so I'm off the air. I tried editing the ASG default config file to replace the 'keepalive 10 120' with 'ping 10' and bounced the connection. It's been working fine since. I really hate editing things on the ASG though (not through the GUI), since it sets up the failure mode where an upgrade or some such occurs and my change(s) is/are wiped out. Is there a better way? Or should I deal with it (and maybe add a feedback entry asking for ability to tweak things like this?) Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure it was the keepalive inactivity thing, since I could see in the ASG live log that it was tearing the connection down due to the timeout...
