i've got my Remote Accsess VPN up..

HI

lice topic i got my vpn up.
but the remote computer is using the accessed VPN as internett connection to.
is there a option that the client use its own GateWay as web/mail/ connection and not trught local GW?

    Control Panel / Network and Dial-up Connections / Right-click
    the VPN shortcut / Properties / Networking / Internet Protocol /
    Properties / Advanced / Untick "Use the default gateway on the
    remote network*

    and no.. that didt work...

    If i disable this i got web accses on local PC and no connection on servers via VPN
    If enable i dot have web but can connet  VPN servers..

    Hi,

    If you uncheck the use Default Gateway on the remote network you will need to add a static route on your pc to send the traffic for the remote network over the tunnel.

    Alternatively if you do not want to split tunnel the traffic you can add the vpn network to the http proxy and/or create firewall rules and nat masq rule to allow the vpn network to access the internet.

    Dan, Have you filled in the information on the 'Advanced' tab of 'Remote Access'?  If you've given the "VPN Pool (L2TP/PPTP)" access to DNS and you don't have your own, internal DNS server, you probably want the IP of "Internal (Address)" listed as primary DNS there.  Second would be your choice of external DNS servers.

    You may be right Bob, but i remember having to do this with windows XP. Don't know what OS is being used in this case.

    This is the case.
    I have an ASG 120. Ans slme file servers that i share whit my brother.

    Ge have a Windows home server that we msnage to conect to my network by Remote Accsess.

    When on VPN his pc not abe to access internet trougth his own router but all traffic is dropped by my astaro. 

    We uncheced the  GW in the windows  and the pc was online again but now access to my server is lost. We search for 2h amd tried varius option and changes on his computer but still no conection. 

    So now i seek forum help :-P

    I'm still a rookey at this ASG stuff so...

    No all option is set to 0.0.0.0
    I tried to set it to my GW adress192.168.0.1 but no change..

    I remember there was an old KB article about this but it is not up on the new knowledgebase. 

    If you are using win7 this may not be applicable not sure about WHS, but for XP when configuring pptp/l2tp you need to add a route as outlined in this post:

    Whe WHS his running is based on windows server 2003 and i think tke 2003 server i based on win xp

    One mistake many newbies make is to bind a definition to an interface.  Confirm that all of your Host/Network definitions have 'Interface: >>'.
