VPN SSL - Windows 7 - without admin-right

Dear all,

After many search on this board or on net, I cannot find solution for the problem with VPN SSL for user without admin-rights.

I test :
- user right on Astaro SSL
- add route-method exe & route-delay 2 in configuration file
- "Run as administrator" Astaro SSL Client
- Start under compatibility Windows XP SP3

My only solution "for this moment" is used other client : SecurepointSSLVPN_RC4

But I find it crazy to have to use the client of another manufacturer, competitor of Astaro (Sophos) !

I read that v 9 will override this trouble, but I'm a reseller and I do not like this solution that I have to explain to my client.

Another solution is it possible to use the Astaro VPN client without administrator rights ?

I've perhaps not found on the internet !

    Another option would be to install and test the v9 beta (UTM 9 Public Beta - Astaro User Bulletin Board) where this issue is resolved.

    Would it be possible to use the client from V9 with the config files and server in 8.3?

    On this document the status is "outdated", another document release since this ? 

    You can use that information.  They put "outdated" whenever there's a change of some detail in a document.  Most documents marked like that are completely valid but have a term that's changed in the current release or the picture supplied is from an earlier version.

    That's actually supported. The only drawback is that the current V8 config-only installer from the user portal puts the config files below the old "Astaro" folder, while the V9 client expects them in "Sophos". 8.302 will fix this. Until then manual interaction is required.
