PPTP connect from a Vista system to a ASG 8.3

I can make a VPN connect with PPTP from my Vista systems, but I can't ping anything. I do have firewall ping and forward pings enable.
I have a rule to pass VPN IP Pool traffic to any network.
I notice that my VPN connection never gets an IP from the VPN IP Pool 10.242.1.0/24.

Shouldn't my VPN connect get a IP from the VPN IP Pool of the ASG device?

Is there something else that I need to configure of the ASG to make the VPN connect work?

Thanks,
JP

  • Just a guess.  In 'Properties' in the Windows VPN client, on the 'Security' tab, uncheck 'Require data encryption (disconnect if none)'.

Was that it?  If not, please show a picture of the PPTP configuration in the Astaro.

  • Had the check box selected for Use Static Remote IP Address with my firewalls public IP address. Unchecked the box and now I am able to connect.

    thank you for your help,
    Jason
