use ASG as vpn client

Hi!

One of our suppliers offers access to regularly updated project files on their servers via SSL VPN (they use open vpn server). So they gave us a certificate, username and password to use with a vpn client software on a workstation computer to fetch the latest files whenever we need them. Unfortunately they don’t offer site-to-site vpn connectivity.

But I wonder if it was possible to use the ASG as the vpn client itself to provide access to all our users without the need to open vpn connections on the individual workstations.

Has anyone tried that before and knows if that would be possible? Maybe there was another approach to accomplish that – I would be thankful for any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

that is not supported right now. There is a feature request for this at VPN: Act as a VPN Client

Although I don't know how to do it, this has been discussed here in the past and it is possible if you know enough about OpenVPN.

PS In addition, although it's not presently possible with L2TP, the author of that feature request was able to do what he wanted with PPTP by defining an interface as DSL PPPOA/PPTP.
