IPSEC with Avaya 9600 VPN phone

I am trying to connect an AVAYA 9600 IP Phone via VPN to Astaro. The phone is not connected and it is giving my an error on IKE Phase 2. On the Astaro site I am getting the attached error log.

Do you have any idea what is causing the problem?

  • IKE Phase 2 error? I guess you had the "VPN Tunnel Failure" message too. Was reading with some notes, and Avaya's solution to the problem was "Network congestion". I already established a vpn connection with the avaya 9608 phone via the cisco vpn client option. Was able to make calls and received calls also but if the connection gets cut, have to reboot the phone or press "retry", i too get the same message. But after a few tries, it gets connected also. I guess will still have to take a look at the bypass ipsec port 4500 for the registration. Am just using the local authentication by the utm.
