linksys ddwrt to astaro vpn?

hey all,

I have been using astaro for a while and now my sales guys want to connect multiple devices in the ssl vpn back to my office.

They have been using ssl vpn but now they just want a router/black box to carry that they plug into client sites or hotel and be able to vpn to the office without having to login on their computer individually?

can I use linksys ddwrt?

    Hi Tia,

    maybe it's an option for you to think about giving RED devices to your road warriors. You could manage the settings on your asg and RED's should work on many sites - you should check the different scenarios (hotel, other network at client's site,...) if they match the requirements for successfully connect a RED from there.

    Hi, topcat, and welcome to the User BB!

    This is the first time I've heard of someone wanting a VPN solution with no authentication required - usually people ask how to do two-factor authentication with Astaro VPNs. [;)]

    With all due respect, I think that the sales guys should not be given boxes that can get VPN access to your infrastructure just by being plugged in.  That's just not a security risk that any business should take.

    However, if you do want to do it, Manfred's suggestion would be my choice, too.

    An authentication in addition to the physical need to have a configured RED device is in most cases a must have. Maybe there is a chance to use the AAA Agent and paketfilter rules that have the user network objects (with the resolved ip adresses by the AAA agent) as source.
