Remote subnet as IPSEC local network?

Hi

I have a VPN to a customer, due to a subnet clash with one of their ranges my end is NAT'd, this works fine.  At their end their local network in the IPSEC config is a defined network object (not an interface) 172.18.1.0, this subnet is visible from their 172.16.0.x subnet (their internal interface).  The VPN connects but I'm unable to ping anything on the 172.18.1.x network

    Well, you already know that the "right" answer is for you to change your local subnet. [;)]

    I think that what's happening now is that your customer's network doesn't know to send responses through the tunnel, but there's not enough detail in your question.

    What's in 'Local networks' and 'Remote networks' on each end?  How many IPs do you need to reach on the other end?  Do they need to be able to reach anything on your end?

    Here's some reading from the KnowledgeBase to get you started, but I don't get the impression that you need this level of complexity.
