SSL VPN OpenVPN and DNS failure

Have had OpenVPN and SSL configured for a few years now and have intermittently had problems with name resolution of the internal network servers when connected via the VPN, but it seems to be happening more and more often.

When I do an IPCONFIG /all in Win 7... the DNS servers of my internal network are set appropriately; however, I cannot ping or Remote Desktop to the servers - I have to reach them via the IP address. This is fine for me but not so much for my users.

I am currently on openvpn 2.2.1. Any ideas?

    I'm having this same problem. I have to do ipconfig /registerdns then ipconfig /flushdns. Then DNS will work. How do I prevent having to do this everytime?

    ipconfig /registerdns then ipconfig /flushdns

    Hi I have had the same problem and I resolved it in adding those line:

    push "ipconfig/registerdns"
    push "ipconfig /flushdns"

     in: 

    /var/sec/chroot-openvpn/etc/openvpn/openvpn.conf-default (after: OPENVPN_DNS)
    and
    /var/sec/chroot-openvpn/etc/openvpn/openvpn.conf (after: push dhcp-option DNS...) 

    then stop and restart SSL remote access
