SSL VPN OpenVPN and DNS failure

Have had OpenVPN and SSL configured for a few years now and have intermittently had problems with name resolution of the internal network servers when connected via the VPN, but it seems to be happening more and more often.

When I do an IPCONFIG /all in Win 7... the DNS servers of my internal network are set appropriately; however, I cannot ping or Remote Desktop to the servers - I have to reach them via the IP address. This is fine for me but not so much for my users.

I am currently on openvpn 2.2.1. Any ideas?

    If I understand what you guys are talking about, then it's a DNS issue, and the only solution is flushing the DNS cache as you're now doing.  The problem is caused by having FQDNs that resolve to your public IP in public DNS and to an internal private IP in your internal DNS.
