Routing down VPN.

Hi, I have a Site 2 Site VPN link and networks as follows:

LAN1-VPNTUNNEL-LAN2-ROUTER-LAN3

I can ping LAN1 from LAN3 but I cannot ping LAN3 from LAN1

I tried on LAN1 Astaro adding a static gateway route:
LAN3->RouterLAN2 address.

But it does not work.

LAN1 can ping LAN2 and LAN2 can ping LAN3 etc..

I need to somehow tell the Astaro on Lan1 that LAN3 is reachable over the site to site VPN link.  I have also tried adding static route on actual machines on LAN1.

Any ideas?

    Actually got this working by adding the network to each side of the IPSEC VPN as a network available on LAN2.

    However this shouldn't really be the way should it?  LAN3 isnt actually part of a network the VPN tunnel really knows about as being 'local'.

    Anyway I don't care too much as long as it works. [:D]

    Simon, I don't know of a way to make it work with routing.  I think your solution is the "right" one.

    Remote networks = The networks/hosts I expect to reach at the other end of the tunnel.
    Local networks = The networks/hosts I'm taking care of for this VPN.
