Astaro - green light but no connection until reinstall

Hello.

I have a problem with the Astaro client on two users' computers. When logging in to Astaro, the traffic light turns green, indicating a connection has been made although it's impossible to connect to the server (using RDC).

After reinstalling the client, the connection works fine. The users currently always have to reinstall the client after a reboot.

Computer #1: new pc with Windows 7, problem exists (according to user) since he disconnected a second monitor.
Computer #2: old laptop with Windows XP, problem exists since user returned from holiday and had to change his expired password.

Both users have local admin rights.

If I make a copy of the Astaro folder after a reinstall, reboot, and then overwrite the original folder with the copy, all works fine. I could make a batch script for this, but it's not ideal...

Any ideas of how to solve this?

For the Win 7 machine, try to set the Astaro Application to run as administrator. Even if the user has local admin rights, the program may run with less rights. I had some W7 machines that show the green light, but do not work until you hit the "run as administrator". Hope it helps.

Thanks for your reply. I asked the user to set the program to run as administrator. I'm waiting for his reply.

Problem solved for the Win7 machine [:)]
As for the XP machine, I haven't heard from the user anymore so I might wait a bit and see if the problem comes back.

I've seen Norton Internet Security cause this issue on a Win XP machine... check for local firewalls blocking the traffic.
