iPad VPN - No Internet Access

Hello,

I have successfully setup VPN access using the method here: www.astaro.com/getting-started/iphone-ipad-vpn.pdf and for access to the company LAN, everything works great. My problem is that once the user is connected, they can no longer access any internet sites outside of the LAN, the iPad responds something to the effect of "You are not connected to the internet". Is there a way to setup split tunneling? The iPad seems to have very few options for configurations. We are running an ASG 220 V7.5, within the Cisco VPN Client admin settings, I have local networks set only to our LAN (not set to any). Any help in resolving this would be greatly appreciated!

    Ah, you must have a v1 220.  A couple of years ago, right around when 7.200 came out (as I recall), Astaro offered a discounted hardware upgrade for appliance owners to a newer revision that supports more RAM.  You should check with your reseller to contact the channel rep to see if that program still exists.  V7 is already in maintenance mode (bug fixes only) and support, here on the boards, is already getting harder to come by.  It probably won't be too long before v7 goes unsupported (I would guess next year with the release after 8.300).

    PPTP is full tunnel.
    iPad communicates to internet via ASG. 
    iPad is able to communicate to internet by the following four configurations.

    1)Configure PPTP. 
    Remote Access > PPTP

    2)Configure DNS for iPad.
    Remote Access > Advanced
    When you use DNS of ASG, add network pool of PPTP to allowed networks of DNS.
    Network Services > DNS > Global

    3)Configure Packet Filter
    Source: pool network of PPTP
    Destination: "Any" or "Internet" definition

    4)Configure Masquerading
    Network: pool network of PPTP
    Interface: external interface
