VPN-Client: v7 upgrade to v8

Hi, 

we would like to upgrade to v8, finally... can we still use the v7-astasro client to connect or is a newer version needed for this? (asg 220)

    Yes, good advice... better no than yes... so, i checked the client and now I'm a little confused. 
    It says openvpn 2.1_rc22 built on Aug 11 2010 in the logfile. If this  is actually the client version, we are good to go and give it shot
