SSL VPN wrong ip, but not really...

Greetings,

I've been running L2TP Astaro remote connections for years, but just tried my first SSL VPN connection tonight.

Using Astaro ASG120 8.102 version...

I've built my users with a 'static ip address' per user, that's in a subnet of its own (outside of any interface, or pool).

When I connect the the L2TP vpn, the client receives the static IP address and the packet filter rules work just fine. Packets are passed that should be passed. Packets are NOT passed that SHOULDN'T be passed.

However, when I connect with the SSL VPN, the client receives an IP address out of the SSL VPN pool, BUT the packet rules STILL work just fine. Packets are passed that should be passed. Packets are NOT passed that SHOULDN'T be passed.

Is this a bug, or a feature? It will work just fine, but the IP address isn't as advertised.

Thanks,

Mark
