IPSec pass through to Sonicwall

I have a work laptop that needs to VPN to a Sonicwall/Aventail appliance (IPSec not SSL).
My home firewall is ASG v8 software.

If I connect the laptop to my internal (GREEN) interface, and enable all IPSec protocols and ports (ANY to ANY) in ASG (with reporting/logging), I see no activity, and there is no connection.

If I unplug the ASG from my modem and connect in the work laptop directly to the modem, it connects no problem.

Anyone have any ideas? The *official firewall guy* at work said to use Wireshark on the laptop.

    Where are you looking?  If in the Packet Filter live log, you need to flag the IPsec allow rule to 'Log traffic'.

    If I unplug the ASG from my modem and connect in the work laptop directly to the modem, it connects no problem.

    Anyone have any ideas? The *official firewall guy* at work said to use Wireshark on the laptop.

    I suspect that this is a NAT problem - so a client configuration problem or a shortcoming of the Sonicwall VPN server.  In any case, if after confirming that there is traffic between your laptop and the Sonicwall, I bet you'll need to check the client log and check the Sonicwall forums to solve your issue.
