Hello,
I'm very new at this (I'm really just brute-forcing myself through a lot of this) so any help anyone can provide is greatly appreciated.
I have enabled the "Cisco VPN Client" on my Astaro box and it seems to be working as expected; using the Knowledge Base and following along, I was able to connect remotely with my iPad on AT&T's 3G network for Remote Desktop purposes. However, I'm wondering how secure this is? From what I'm reading online, not all VPN methods are created equal (with PPTP, for example, being considered least secure). Is the "Cisco VPN Client" a secure method?
Also, when I connect at an open WIFI hotspot, I want to ensure that I encrypt all of my web surfing data. Currently I am doing this by establishing a VPN connection and then manually entering the proxy settings to point to my Astaro box, routing all web traffic through the proxy. Is this the way to do it? Is there a better way?
Thank you so much!
