port issue?

Need to know if Astaro has to open a port on my modem.  Internet provider is Frontier is PPPOE and recommended I call Astaro.  
VPN works great from public wireless but not at home
Has anyone had this problem?

    From public wireless were you connecting to one of the Astaro Remote Access VPN services?  Which one?

    From inside your Astaro, where is the VPN you're trying to reach?  With what client?
