Site2Site SQL Server Cluster

I'm working on setting up a SQL Server cluster using 2 ASG220s. 1 in our main datacenter and the second in our backup data center. MS requires that both of the SQLServers be on the same subnet. I have the two sites connected via SSL S2S VPN.
The main site uses 10.16.1.0/24 anf the backup uses 10.16.2.0/24 . Can I use the vlan feature to allow boradcast between these two lans to make them the same subnet? If not what are my options?

I think this is the same issue, stated a bit differently, addressed by an article in the Astaro KnowledgeBase: Tunnel between two ASGs having the same LAN network range .

There's an older article, NAT over VPN, that is better dcoumented and appears to address your situation more specifically. The article says its status is outdated, but I didn't see any reason for that.
