I currently have 2 sites connected via a ssl vpn which is working fine.
The ASG machines on both sides are acting as the DHCP server for each site.
The primary DNS is handled by a local domain controller (Small business server 2003 @ site 1 and windows server 2003 DC @ site 2) with any unresolved requests being forwarded to the local ASG device and then out to OpenDNS.
The problem with this setup is that any new device connecting to the network isn't being registered in DNS on the local domain controllers. Is there anyway to get the ASG device to do this?
An alternative setup would be to use the DHCP facility built into windows server 2003 which will then log new client in the domains dns.
Would this have any impact on the operation of the SSL VPN as the ASG would still be assigning the IP addresses for the incoming connections??
Would this also have any impact on routing traffic over the VPN?? eg would I need to create any static routes??
