L2TP/IPSec VPN restarts every 5 minutes

Hi, I was running 7.504 on an ASG120 and on September 3rd moved over to an ASG Software Appliance 8.001. I restored my 7.504 backup onto 8.001 and everything is working fine except the L2TP/IPSec VPN restarts every 5 minutes. I thought maybe it was a cert issue so I regenerated the certs and rebooted but no luck. Attached is the log file from the 8.001 Software Appliance.

I also have large CPU spikes of 35% every 3 hours that last about 30 minutes but haven't been able to figure out what's causing them.

    Here's the log from selfmon, claiming it failed to increment some counters and restarting openl2tpd every 5 minutes. Any idea why it might not be able to increment the counters?

    Could you verify the L2TP daemon is running at the times selfmon is restarting it? Run `ps aux | grep [o]penl2tpd` in a root shell when selfmon can not increment the counter. If there's no output, openl2tpd seems to exit unexpectedly. I openl2tpd is running the output should look something like:

    root      9997  0.0  0.0   2108   752 ?        S    13:43   0:00 /usr/sbin/openl2tpd
