Setting up L2TP VPN crashes External interface

Hello, tearing my hair out on this one. Installed the version 8, my WAN is a PPPOE through a bridged ADSL modem. Everything works fine until I try to configure the L2TP VPN, once I add the VPN user and hit apply the WAN interface disconnects and I can't get it back up. End up doing a reset and rebuilding the firewall. Any ideas?

OK, had another crack at it tonight, was able to get the L2TP VPN up using just one user, no group and the VPN Pool. Problem started again when I added the DHCP server to provide the IP's to the VPN client. The WAN interface crashed again requiring a rebuild to recover it. Any ideas?

Do you have a specific need for using DHCP rather than the VPN pool?

Also, you aren't trying to use the Astaro for DHCP on the L2TP/IPSec, are you? (that is not supported).

I'll run with the VPN pool and hope this is resolved sometime. I'm not using the Astaro for DHCP

I don't understand why there's an option for DHCP. I've only seen problems it's caused. Can anyone explain when it's needed?
