I am setting up a Site to Site VPN between ASGs. Initial testing has been good.
I want the tunnel to only be open in case MPLS from office to data center goes down. I have BGP and necessary routing on my Cisco routers behind the ASGs configured and tested. If MPLS drops, traffic routes out Site to site VPN over separate Internet link. So far so good.
One thing I have noticed is that when the Site to Site is up, my ASG loses ability to send reports and notifications back to my email server which is in the data center. When the Site to Site is paused, everything works. I suspect routing issue with ASG with two gateways, but I was wondering if the Site to Site tunnel could be configured to not up be unless needed.
I only need the tunnel for when things fail over.
