I am having the same issue with an iPhone 3GS with iOS 4. I was trying to connect with the VPN on the iPhone and could not connect. I reset the network settings which removed my VPN profiles. I tried to reinstall the VPN profiles with Safari. The instillation looks normal but when I go to connect with the VPN there are no VPN profiles installed. I am going to try to manually configure a VPN on the iPhone to see if that works.
The same thing happened when Apple upgraded to 3.0 a year ago, so the sooner someone with support submits a trouble ticket, the sooner Astaro will adjust for any "undocumented features" in the new iPhone software. I got so burned by the 3.0 upgrade that I am waiting until 4.01 before I upgrade past the current 3.1.3.
Did anyone manage to get astaro's vpn-profile working an iphone using OS version 4, yet? Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?
In my case, installing an VPN-profile on an iphone 3G (OS Version 4.0) does not set up any vpn-connections on the iphone. The profile is installed under Settings->General->Profile, there are just no VPN-connections under Settings->General->Network->VPN.
Herman, are you saying that you installed the Astaro profile before or after the upgrade to IOS4? The problem I confirmed after I upgraded to 3 wasn't that my existing profile stopped working - it was that I couldn't re-establish it after deleting it.
Before and after, to show you i deleted the profile and installed it again. I made some calls during the process but you can take a look at the screenshots.
