I'm attempting to connect to an Astaro VPN (I don't know much more about it than that) through an Ubuntu 9.10 x64 box. I've logged into the Astaro user portal and downloaded the .ini and the PKCS#12 file. Just to test, I downloaded, installed and was able to connect successfully with the windows client (Astaro Secure Client V9.20 build-35) so I know its up and running.
Currently i'm attempting to connect from my Ubuntu box with KVpnc. I've gone through and manually created a new profile and tried various settings but nothing has worked so far (various errors, seg faults, program crashes).
Ideally I could just import the .ini config file into KVpnc but i haven't found a way to do that yet. When I open Kvpnc I select "profile", "new profile (wizard)" and from there i'm not even really sure what to choose. I've tried "Ipsec (FreeS/WAN/Openswan/StrongSwan)" and "L2TP over Ipsec (FreeS/WAN/Openswan/StrongSwan)". At the next prompt i'm selecting "enter data manually", then loading my PKCS#12 key. I've tried various settings on the next few screens and not been able to make anything work. I'm not sure if I need to set custom IKE settings or if I need have "use left/right next hop" set?
Could anyone provided me with some assistance in getting this set up? I'm not very familiar with VPN's and I'm hoping that i'm missing something obvious.
