SSL VPN dns problem

Hi,

We use Astaro SSL VPN client to connect to internal network at office from Internet. Once we connect, the route is added to the table automatically so we can access internal network. We can access resources in the internal network by ip address but not dns name. When we ping the dns name of the host in internal network, seems that it try to query from Internet provider's DNS server not our office's DNS. How can we make it query internal network DNS server so we can access resources with DNS name.

    Wenn du Windows XP clientseitig benutzt kannst du auch noch die Reihenfolge der Abfrage ändern und den VPN DNS priorisieren:

    - Rechte-Maustaste auf "Netzwerkumgebung" --> Eigenschaften
    - Erweitert/Erweiterte Einstellungen
    - im oberen Teil deine Verbindungen priorisieren

    Hi suriya,

    we experienced this issue in some cases but it is hard to reproduce. Every 20-30 connect shows the DNS resolve issue. In general, we cannot find any issue in our SSL package, also a support call with Microsoft ended up without access.

    We have customers reporting that the client version 2.09 does not show that behaviour. We are currently checking what we can do from our site. In the meantime, you can download the client from  ftp://ftp.rdsor.ro/pub/OpenVPN/windows/openvpn-2.0.9-gui-1.0.3-install.exe and try if it helps in your enviroment.

    Thanks Dominic. I'll give it a try.


    For additional information, we do not suffer from this issue when we make the logged on user a member of the 'Network Configuration Operators' group on XP machine. Is it a permission issue of some sort? The problem is we don't want user to be in that group.
