The real thing! OpenVPN 2.1 released!

Good news! Only 16 beta and 22 release candidates since this release's first beta in October 2005, OpenVPN version 2.1 has crossed the finish line.  Let the bug fixes begin!

Now that it's out in final form, hopefully Astaro can include it with their next ASG release - or maybe they should wait for v 2.2? [:)]

    Thanks, Eric!  Just to add to your tantalizing, this is what people will find if they click on your link:
    • OpenVPN GUI is now packaged in the Windows installer. 
    • Extensions to Management Interface to allow greater programmatic control of OpenVPN client and server. 
    • topology subnet option, allowing intuitive tun-based VPN subnets having 1 IP address per client. 
    • DHCP proxy support for Windows clients using the route-gateway dhcp option. 
    • TAP-Win32 adapter can now be opened from non-administrator mode. 
    • PKCS #11 features for usage of cryptographic tokens ("smart cards"). 
    • multihome option to enable UDP-based multihoming of the server on multiple interfaces. 
    • port-share option to allow OpenVPN and an HTTPS server to share TCP port 443.

    I'd definitely love to see the subnet-option on the astaro-server side somewhere. It's much easier to handle your vpn network and firewall-rules on the windows-clients in my opinion, when all VPN-Clients are in one single subnet.

    Please Astaro, do something about that option ;-)
