My first client with ASGs on both ends! Do not want to experiment too much on them (they are new) but want to promote the "latest and greatest".
Have setup IPSec networks without issue. Except that performance goes down as latency (distance) goes up. (West coast to East coast NA)
SSL (especially over UDP) promises to improve this and decrease load on the boxes.
Does anyone have any "notes from the field" on any reasons to go with SSL over IPSec?
Astaro engineer speculated that it would be faster based on lighter processing alone. I was expecting a article from Astaro promoting this. Alas, it has been many several months and no horn blowing so far.
Would be great to see data from a real trial between IPSec and SSL over a good distance. (eg Wilmington and Karlsruhe)
