C'mon Astaro - Vista's been here long enough now - how about a VPN client that works? It's not like you give these things (and the maintenance agreements) away...
I just wasted an entire evening trying to get an SSL VPN client to work on a Vista 32-bit (Home Premium) system.

The Astaro VPN client V 1.3 wouldn't connect - something about a WIN32 TAPI driver or something.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the Astaro VPN client without success. I found Knowledge Base document Article # 299973, but it isn't very specific about which OpenVPN package to download. I did install OpenVPN 2.0.9 with the Windows GUI, but at the end of the installation routine, a Vista error said that the driver wasn't signed, and that Vista required signed drivers. I continued with the instructions (the path given for the config folder is wrong, by the way), but was still not able to get VPN connectivity.
So, I called it a night, leaving my client scratching his head wondering why he paid $3000 and several hundred more a year for an appliance that he can't use without a lot of headaches.
If anyone can suggest how I can get by this and get on with my life, I'd appreciate it. I messed around with the Partnet Portal, trying to start a support incident, but I was unable to do so - it kept asking me to choose a license fomr a drop-down, but there there were none shown.
