Problem with RDP to XP SP3 machines

Hi all,

I have a Astaro 120, running v. 7.401.

My problem is that, after i established a SSL VPN connection, i can't RDP to any XP SP3 machines.

Vista SP1 to Vista SP1  : No problems
Vista SP1 to XP SP3     : Won't connect
XP SP3 to Vista SP1     : No problems
XP SP3 to XP SP3        : Won't connect

[:(]

Everything else works fine.

Any ideas how to fix this ?

    Steve, are you saying that you have a site-to-site SSL VPN and you have Vista and XP-SP3 machines in both sites and that these RDP sesions are attempted via the VPN?  Or, are you saying that the VPN somehow breaks this inside the network?  Or that you are doing Remote Access from one of those Vista or XP-SP3 machines and attempting RDP over the tunnel?  Or?

    It appears from a quick Google that there are problems with XP-SP3 and RDP.  Have you tried to reach an XP-SP3 unit on the same LAN segment in the same subnet?

    RDP sessions within the LAN works fine, (any computer)

    My problem is when i established a VPN SSL Tunnel with the astaro client from any computer (Vista SP1 or XP XP3) outside the LAN, i can't RDP into a XP SP3 machine, i have no problems doing this with Vista SP1 machine.

    Using IPs or names to connect?
    Can you ping the machines?

    Check the PacketFilter and IPS logs.

    is the ssl-pool part of the IM/P2P control ? - if yes, try to disable WINNY check, sometimes the RDP traffic will be classified as winny by AFC and blocked then...

    The Winny check in IM/P2P can cause problems... there are also (at least there used to be) an IPS rule or two that sometimes is falsely triggered by some RDP traffic (started happening to me when the new version of RDP was released)... Check your IPS and IM/P2P logs, and disable the affected rules.

    Hi all,

    Back again, this time with good news.  The IT gods have intervene [:)]

    Before messing around with my Astaro 120, i backed up my configuration, then i tried different configurations hoping that one would resolve my RDP problem.

    Nothing worked !

    So i restore my backup, and.... surprise ! [:S]

    Everythings working fine now !

    I greatly appreciate the fact that you all took the time to reply to this post.
