I am relatively new to Astaro and have been figuring out things as I go along. I have just set up a test site to site VPN and actually got it to work quite easily. I have set the "auto packet filter" option on both the local and remote ASGs and on the surface it looks like I have perfect connectivity.
Here is where I am running into issues. I need several irregular ports 53, 903 and some others that the Astaro seems to be blocking. I have tried setting up several packets rules on the local and remote ASGs.
Local Gateway:
remote_network -> 903 -> local_network
local_network -> 903 -> remote_network
same for the remote gateway. I have put these rules at the top of the list as well as the bottom of the packet filter list and nothing.
I installed a networking scanner and when I scan the remote host I am trying to connect to it still shows the ports as firewalled.
Curiously, I turned off "auto packet filter" on both sides and attempted to create my own any/any packet rule based on Astaro documentation (http://portal.knowledgebase.net/article.asp?article=237054&p=5956) and at this point NO traffic passed through the VPN.
Does anyone know what ports the "auto packet filter" opens up and how it is used? Maybe one of you have run into this and can share the work around? I checked the packet filter logs and I am not really seeing anything in there.
