SSL VPN clients cannot be pinged?

I have found something odd.

My SSL VPN Clients can connect and browse the network but nobody can ping them and they can't share files directly.

Is there a way to get around this?

Shouldn't VPN be a two way traffic?

Have you checked to see what packets are blocked? Briefly add two packet filter rules with logging at the top of the rule list allowing traffic to and from the VPN pool and Any, and watch the live log to see what traffic you need to allow in addition to the rules below them.
