Site2Site IPSEC between ASG and Cisco 7206 using internet ADSL connection

Hello Everyone,
I am using ASG120 ver. 7.201 and connected to ADSL modem and ADSL is connected to internet. When I try to setup IPSEC VPN with Cisco 7206 in office, connection doesn't start and I found in log next error : "S_Mtel2_0" #10: max number of retransmissions (2) reached STATE_MAIN_I3. Possible authentication failure: no acceptable response to our first encrypted message,were Mtel is name of my VPN conection. Probably problem is in VPN ID, because Cisco waiting for VPN ID external IP address of ADSL, but I see in dashboard VPN ID is ASG120 external IP, that is 192.168.1.2...  I tried to put external IP address of my network like Virtual IP in gateway form in ASG, but still nothing…

Can someone help me to solve this problem ?

BR,
Alexander

  • 2 things:

    1) Is your ADSL Modem in Bridged mode?  Things work better when the Astaro does the PPPOE login (I'm assuming your DSL provider forces you to use PPPOE)....

    2) Don't use IP for endpoint identification... use a hostname (even if it's made up, if the settings are correct on each end, it will work) ... this is particularly handy if your DSL IP changes periodically.
