L2TP Daemon crashes but does not restart

we're using an ASG220 with software version 6.313. Actually I do some tests relating remote access. With L2TP, I basically have two problems:

1. Connections with MacOsX 10.3.9 work flawless, access to Windows file shares, RDP connections to servers and internal and external http access are all fine. Windows XP SP2 connects, I can connect to my servers with RDP client and access our Windows file shares, but http does not work, neither internal websites like Outlook web access nor internet sites. Connection is setup as L2TP/IPSec with local users and preshared key. Masquerading and packet filter rules are set, network addresses are assigned using the IPSec pool.

2. The L2TP daemon crashes sometimes, even when no remote connections occur for 1 or 2 days. According to the logfiles, a restart is scheduled, but the restart does not occur. I have to reboot the Astaro Box in order to regain L2TP/IPSec access.

Has anybody faced similar problems and was able to solve them?
