Problem with User Portal and VPNSSL

I am running into a problem with the End User Portal and VPNSSL. I got it up and running but when I go to click on Download software, a message box will open up and close before I can look at it. I have the site that I am going to in my Trusted sites list.
Could it be I don't have something setup properly on the Firewall to begin with?
Stephen

  • Nah, popup blocker or local security setting in your web browser at play.  Try Firefox.

  • Thank you for that advice. I was able to get it to work. I'm going to have to include those instructions when I send it over to our vendor so he won't have very many problems getting to it.
    Thanks!!

  • Another hint is to hold the CTRL / STRG Button while klicking on the download Button. With that hint downloading is working with the IE too ....
  • BTW, IE6 / IE7 normally does work when one adds the site to the trusted sites list, and makes sure downloads are enabled for trusted sites... I just suggested Firefox becuase the default config for it doesn't have any issues... So if you need to use IE (like most of my customers) you may want to use Group Policy to push out the necessary IE security setting changes to the appropriate clients.

This does not work with the current version 7.104. I have added the site to the trusted zone and enabled automatic downloads are enabled for the trusted site zone. I get the download dialogbox in IE7, however it gives an error stating that the system could not download the item as it was no longer available on the site!

I bit pissed as I have been wait to use SSL VPN for some time and due to backened authentication method issues. Now compatibility with the corporate web browser is stopping me....AAAAHHHHHRRRRGGGG!!!!!![:@]
  • Works in my testing and production units;  check your IPS for dropped packets; when 7.x first came out I had to disable some IPS rules due to the User Portal triggering false positives...

  • Not an IPS issue, as I can download the installation files from the portal using firefox. This is an incompatibility issue with IE 7.
