Problem with L2TP

I am having a problem getting L2TP to work correctly. I am using Version 7 Of the Astaro Security Gateway on a home licence. 

I set up the L2tp over Ip sec following the directions in the Knowlagebase. Did not do any extra configuration. I can not look at the logs for L2TP becouse It is not shown. I am using the X509 for authentication. In the settings I have it set to X509. In windows xp PRo I have it the certificate saved in Certificate(Local Computer)\Personal\Certificates.

Whenever I try to connect I get the error.

Error 789: The L2TP Connection attempt failed becouse the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer. 

I am not sure what this means as I have this system to play around with it and learn. If I were to say anything I would say the Certificate that it is using is wrong.  What Do I need to check?

    Same here too... I also got error 789.

    For the first time I had no problem with L2TP connection.
    Everything is OK.
    But after I installed ASC and doing IPSec connection, I cannot using L2TP anymore.

    Please help us..

    If you have installed ASC (or another IPSec client), you will need to shut down its services (NCP services for ASC) and restart the Windows IPSec service to use the integrated L2TP over IPSec client- and reverse the process to use the ASC.  If you flip between the two frequently you may find a couple of batch files with "net start [service to start]" and "net stop [svc to stop]" lines handy.
