How would I solve this?

Hi,

I've got a project where I have a server (win2003 std) hosted in a datacenter. I need to be able to communicate with this server as if it where in my local network (both ways). I however do not want to mess-up the routing on the remote server (only trafic for my local network should be routed to my local network, I do not wish to act as a gateway for this server..).

Normaly I would install an astaro on the colo site and use that as firewall, and create a site2site vpn tunnel between the datacenter and the office location. This however is not possible this time.

My knowledge of these thing is (obviously) limmited... can any of you guru's give me a tip how to set this up?

(my local network does have a v7 astaro running... duh...)

    You could enable VPN on the astaro box, say pptp for example.

    Then from the datacentre server create a new vpn connection, tell it to save the username and password and select redial if line is droped. That would then give you access both ways through the tunnel.
