No IPSec tunnel after PPPoE reconnect

Sounds like the problem I had as well: https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/58/t/52913 - the support hacked some shell script and said it's expected to be fixed in the 6.312 update as well, though I don't know when it's gonna be released.

Sounds like a case where opening a support ticket if you have one may help encourage Astaro to push an update. Still doesn't seem quite like everyone is happy enough with v7 to migrate to that version yet, so I'd hate to see v6 suffer from known and fixed bugs.

I have a few customers with this problem as well.

Apparently this problem often originates from the HTTP proxy continually being restarted by the selfmon daemon after some type of brief ISP disconnection (more likely) or network load (probably less likely).
The HTTP Proxy is then restarted over and over again by the selfmon daemon, which immediately impacts the stability of the VPN (assuming it is point to point).  (I got all of this from the North American support group).

There is a new HTTP Proxy due for release in 7.100 which is due out mid/end November 2007 and it is supposed to fix this PPPoE/VPN problem (which is apparently quite common).

If you have web content filtering, try turning that feature off for a few days and see if that has a positive impact on the stability of your VPN.

We're talking about v6, here, not v7. Many people don't have the luxury of upgrading to v7. Us, we are afraid of how many new issues will crop up with v7. At least with v6, the issues that exist are fairly well known.

I also fail to see why the HTTP proxy would be related to VPN stability. It seems that they should be fairly distinct pieces of software!
