We are using 7.011 on an Appliance. We upgraded recently from v5. We have windows users who are having problems VPN'ing in. Their problem is after they are connected, they cannot access anything. Apparently, since we switched from v5, they have all been having problems. They each can connect successfully and report no problems with establishing the connection.
So, to verify, we wiped a machine and put WinXPsp2 on it. Then put the machine out "on the net" w/o any f/w infront of it. Then attempted to VPN. I saw the same behavior they reported; connects in fine, can't do squat.
With a route print I could see the routing table was set to direct 0.0.0.0 to, get this, the machine's VPN IP. Not the Astaro f/w's VPN IP.
Setting the Windows machine to route all traffic over the VPN link did not help the situation at all.
Using the same account on the firewall that was used to test Windows, I can use an OSX 10.4.10 machine and VPN in just fine and have no problems with the routing table.
I think the problem is the Windows machine was not setting the gateway IP correctly. However, on the f/w side I turned on debug output for the pptp logfile. And we watched and compared what was sent to the two machines (win,OSX). From the log files, it looks as if both remote machines received the same information/settings from the firewall. OSX could apparently interpret this information correct, and Windows seemingly could not.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding what we can do differently to fix this?
