I had today two weired issues:
1) I tired to configure a new laptop for SSL VPN. I downloaded the users client
extracted everything into a folder and ran the setup. I got the SSL icon in the taskbar but the in the menu there was only Exit and Proxy setting available. (connect aso was missing) After a while I found out the the "Program folder\Astaro\Astaro SSL Client\Config" folder was empty and the setup did not copy the config files to the directory. I copied them manually (from the folder where I unzipped the client setup) and restarted the client and it worked.
2) During the same procedure I was tying to download the VPN client from the User Portal of Astaro. I tried with IE I was able to sign in but when I pressed the download button a popup appeared and vanished and nothing happend anymore. So I tired Firefox. With firefox I couldnt open the page of the End user portal (which was possible with IE). After a while I found out that the network which I tried it from is not even configured to access the End User Portal.... so I changed the FW config to allow this specific network and I was able to download the client with Firefox.....
Why was it possible to access the page with IE even if the Network was not even granted access to the End User Portal....
very weired.....
Any clues?
