Vista + PPTP

ASG220 + 7.007

I have Vista (ugh). PPTP connections just don't work - sometimes authentication fails, sometimes works then after a few minutes traffic ceases and the PPTP daemon complains about misordered packets etc. etc.. On my XP laptop PPTP works like a charm.

I think I have butchered every single Vista PPTP config setting in an attempt to get it to work (eg. force PAP, disable IPv6, force PPTP etc. etc.)

Anyone got a definitive guide on how to make it work reliably?

    I just left mine at the defaults and have had no problems connecting from a Vista Ultimate system to my v6 ASG firewall at work.  No drops, can access everything, no issues at all.  I have two seperate systems running Vista Ultimate at home and both connect just fine.

    Silly question, but our your default gateway settings on the machine / network routing back to the ASG?

    Did you have it working in 7.006?

    Please can you post your connection ASG & client logs

    well minus any senseative stuff of course

    I've never got it to work Mike [:(] I've got two Vista boxes: Enterprise and Ultimate. One's an IBM laptop the other a desktop. No dice with Fista. I've tried with 7.007, 7.008 and 7.009. Can't remember with 7.006 [;)]

    However Win XP SP2 works like a charm.

    The private network on this side is: 172.168.1.0/24 and on the other end is 192.168.2.0/24.

    Vista routing is as follows:

    Network Destination        Netmask          Gateway       Interface  Metric
              0.0.0.0          0.0.0.0     172.16.1.254     172.16.1.104   4235
              0.0.0.0          0.0.0.0         On-link        10.242.1.2     11

    Lower metric indicates data should be stuffed down the tunnel.

    Here's some logs (I've put an Any/Any/Any rule in the packet filter just to be sure) but I see no traffic getting to devices on the otherside:
