connecting Site2Site with the same network address

i have two independent sites that has the same network address (192.168.1.x/24) .

i need to connect them in a site-2-site connection. i was told that in order to do that, i need to change one of the networks to a different network (ex. 192.168.2.x/24).

i don't understand why, could someone please explain? is there a way for me to keep the network addresses at each site?

thanks

  • It's basic networking rules / principles... there is no way around that, you simply will have to readdress one of the sites.  See any good book on TCP/IP internetworking for more details (there's not enough room here).
