[7.006] DynDns with Astaro in bridge mode

I have a 220 that is running in bridged mode.  I went to Network>DNS>DynDNS and clicked on enable.  I got no entries in the drop down box for interface.  From that I'd guess that it may not be possible.  That's about as far as I can take it to test for you as this is a production box.

ah ok, thanks Scott, that was about my guess too but i need some one to confirm it.

I am running on dynamic ip (DSL line) from my isp and i need to remotely manage my astaro box. 

Any alternatives for me to get this done? I tried looking at RSA and PSK but am at a lost on which to use (if it can be done with dynamic IP)

There are of course several options.  The first would be to not run in bridged mode.  
 
Another would be to not worry about connecting to your Astaro box directly from the internet for management, but connect to it by proxy. 
What I do for my home setup is to use logmein free edition to connect to a workstation in my LAN and then on that machine I can connect to the Astaro box to make changes.
 
How often does your WAN IP change?  I have home DSL through Verizon and have had the same WAN IP for around 18 months.  Occasionally it will change due to reprovisioning of circuits or if there's a power failure that lasts longer than the DHCP lease time, but for the most part it stays constant for long periods.

the WAN IP changes if there is disconnection or a power failure. if there is no inteference, as long as the connection is there, the IP will be the same.

I am trying to get a basic VPN up without making as much changes as possible.

Can the remote access work with dynamic ip and also from behind the load balancer ?

Ok, VPN is another story then. VPN can work with a dynamic IP, as long as the client system knows what it is so the Astaro can be contacted. 
 
I couldn't say whether or not it would work behind the load balancer or not. Would sort of depend on the feature set of the load balancer I guess. Does it support some form of port forwarding if necessary? By load balancer are you talking about a router with multiple WAN ports?
 
It's definately looking like the easiest thing to do would be to drop bridged mode and go with the standard separate LAN and WAN interfaces so that you can use the DynDNS capability in the Astaro, but maybe somebody more knowledgable here has another suggestion.

the load balancer is called peplink... it has multiple lan and wan port...

to drop the bridge mode ?

DynDNS offers update clients for Windows, Mac, and Linux/Unix.  Simply install one on one of your internal machines and disable the ASG client.
