This isn't my thread, but I am also trying to set up VPN, but not using ASL directly. My corporate intranet VPN is accessible using software the company gave me and an RSA card. Currently, I'm not even getting to where my VPN Client software can make an initial connection to our corporate network -- I'm not seeing anything obvious in the livelog during this process. Any ideas?
Sugesstions: When setting up ANY VPN, a simple thing missed is what IP subnets all the networks are on. If the CORPORATE Internal LAN uses say 192.168.0.0/22 and the VPN software creates a 10.0.0.0./24 BUT .. the home router say uses (NAT'd) 192.168.1.0/24 ... you cant get to the Company INTERNAL LAN because it wont route of course ... If yo wnat to use 3rd part Software, to an ASTARO you could I suppose have a PPTP tunnel set up as that is easy, then run the aditional VPN S?W with RSA ID , best I would say is to get the corporate end to use ASG and SSL VPN to create a connection and save money .. then once connected use RSA ID to Two Factor authenticate to the backen systems as if in the office.
Or create an IpSec link device to device, create a tunnel, with most ports open, and RSA ID through that ..
