L2TP over IPSEC on OSX

Hey guys, I am pretty new to the astaro game so please be kind. I am trying to get some road warior vpn tunnels going, so that my boss, the president of the company and I log in externally. The great thing about having three different people is that I have to figure out how to get l2tp to work on three different operating systems. Now I know that the astaro box is working and set up right because when I am working on the windows box I can log into the box and use the internet just the same as if I was physically connected to it. However when I connect to the vpn with my macbook pro it won't let me connect to any websites. if anyone has any ideas as to why this would be happening please help me. I have been working on this for over two weeks.

    Hmmmm..... I use L2TP on OS X.... do you mean it won't allow you to connect to websites within your organization, or any???? 

    Are there multiple network locations on the Macbook.... for different network connections, and some of these might have a potentially different route?
