IPSEC Remote Setup

Hi

I am having real problems setting up an ipsec remote session. I read the manual but even though I thought I set it up the portal is not allowing me to download a client. My SSL one works but the Ipsec or the L2TP over IPSEC just will not work for me

Please can some one give me a step by step idiots guide, as I must be going wrong somewhere. I guess it can't be a bug???

Do you mean that you cannot download a client or are you talking about the configuration package? For L2TP over IPSec and PPTP there is no client to download, since it is already integrated in Windows.

What exactly do you see on the user portal?

Hi Stephan

I have created in v7001 an IPSEC Remote Access session, but when I go to download the ipsec client from the portal the portal freezes as soon as I log off and when i can finall get in I can not see anything to download. The open SSL is fine though.

But I am not sure if I am configuring the IPSEC part correctly in the webadmin

Which browser are you using? Can you try the download with Firefox2? Also, there is a remote access howto in our knowledge base:

Mike,

Is on your OS SP-2 installed?
This is nessesary.

Than you can add an New VPN with a pre shared key.(L2TP over IPSeC)
see manual discribed by Astaro.

you have to use firefox to download the setup files and configuration files.

the only weird thing is when i use firefox it comes with very strange filenames. like KmDQuUUgFoRrOgMl.asc when i open this with notepad i can see that this is the ini file to import to ASC and oPwfqeNFXJrMpeiH.p12. i dont know if this is a normal behavior of ASL. with IE im not able to download anything from my ASL.
