I'm running ASL 6.303 on the firewall and using Windows 2000 native PPTP and Windows XP native PPTP protocols to connect users to the firewall. Some are on broadband, a couple on dial-up (yuck!). Unfortunately, they ALL experience frequent "disconnects", sometimes as often as 20-30 times in an hour. If I place another firewall on the remote end and bring up a VPN bridge (two Astaros), the problem seems to go away with disconnects as little as a few times a week.
PPTP is easy to work with and I can provide instructions for users on how to configure, the alternatives seems very difficult and non-end-user friendly. What can I do to reduce or eliminate the disconnects... the connection is on a full T1 with a 15-20% utiliziation ration on 5-min averages so there is plenty of bandwidth.
HELP! Thanks
