RDP RemoteDesktop is doing crazy things - Astaro do VODOO

Dear NG,
can anyone give me a hint?

From one side i can not use the remotedesktop anymore.
If i want to connect through my vpn-tunnel-site-to-site i get only a black window instead of a black window with a login-window inside. I can not connect to windowsPC anymore nor to WindowsTerminalserver.

It works till yesterday. No configurations are changed. No updates were made.

I can still do remotedesktopconnection from Site1 to Site2.
I can NOT do remotedesktop from Site2 to Site1. Errordescription see above.

    Hi!

    Funny thing, i have the same problem (almost). Instead of a black screen i get nothing. Furthermore i did some port scanning and i see rdp coming back and forward but nothing happens.
    I can still do remotedesktopconnection from Site1 to Site2.
    I can not do remotedesktop from Site2 to Site1.

    Extra info: Site1 has ASL v6 , Site2 has ASL v7.

    Check your IPS logs / hits... do a search for RDP and then for Terminal --- there are several IPS rules that interfere with RDP connections.  If it worked before and has recently quit.. what version RDP client are you using?  If it's the new one that was pushed out via MIcrosoft / WIndows update in the last month or 2, there is an IPS rule that conflicts with it as well... a terminal server encryption rule... disable it.  You could temporarily turn off your IPS to verify this.  As a reseller, I've had to do this on about 11 or 12 installs so far, same wierdness.

    Dear all,
    the problem was the sdsl-connection.


    I fire up a call from astaro support and gave them 300 Euro.

    They found the following:
    The packets till 1444 were working without problems.
    The packets from 1445 till .... were not working.
    ping -s 1445 www.gmx.de werde getting no response.

    If you took the mtu of the vpn tunnel to 1300 it will work fine.
    The real problem is the provider. After i told them the problem they fixed it and than the mtu of the firewall can be reseted to 1400 again.
